Meet Honey Pot the Wax Spot! The Valdosta, Georgia wax, makeup and spray tanning salon is doing things differently - from a walk-in only model, to charitable causes - all making for a very sweet business. Marlo Beauty recently chatted with Honey Pot’s owner Stacie Pridgen to learn more about Honey Pot, their unique view of the beauty industry and how they’re saving the bees. Marlo Beauty: Tell us a little bit about Honey Pot The Wax Spot.
Honey Pot The Wax Spot: We offer full-body waxing, makeup application and spray tanning services. Great service begins and ends with experienced and friendly professionals, which is why we put so much consideration into selecting only the best to join our team. We pride ourselves on natural, organic products helping us serve those with even the most sensitive skin. As a female-owned business, we understand the importance of a woman's confidence and our goal is to empower each and every one. In addition, we love to give back to the very creatures that make our job possible, the honey bees! We donate a portion of our profits back to organizations that support bee conservation and our local community. #savethebees #jointhehive. We were proudly voted Best of Georgia 2021 and 2022 Hair Removal Specialists, Best Waxing South Georgia 2021, 2022 and 2023 and Best New Business of South Georgia 2021!

Marlo Beauty: What do you think makes Honey Pot The Wax Spot unique?
Honey Pot The Wax Spot: We’re setting our own standard in the beauty industry. At Honey Pot, our goal is to create an image of beauty that is not only skin deep, by immersing ourselves in a greater cause - honey bee sustainability. Whether we are supporting a local volleyball team or hosting a fundraiser in support of a well-established organization, we “bee” lieve in giving back and in “bee”ing our best selves. We believe in boosting the confidence of our customers by creating a welcoming atmosphere, and giving opportunities to gain knowledge and empowering all who come through our doors. We love the body confidence our services provide, but what we love most is establishing and growing the love others feel for themselves. Having the opportunity to meet and know our community and supporting their beauty needs through life's opportunities is why we love what we do. It takes a hive - our customers and community are our Hive.
Aside from our community involvement, we offer walk-in waxing and beauty services, which is not the norm for our industry, as most business models are by appointment. We are open Monday through Saturday 9am-7pm and offer full-body speed waxing, makeup application and spray tanning using natural products to accommodate even the most sensitive skin. By providing walk-in services, we ensure we are not prohibiting our Hive from the responsibilities in their life but enriching their lives by being there when they need us. No need to pencil us in or rush through your day attempting to be on time for our schedule. Honey Pot is designed for our customers, the men and women who are so busy serving others that finding time for themselves can be challenging but convenient with our help!
Marlo Beauty: Tell us more about the charities you work with.
Honey Pot The Wax Spot: In only our first year we hosted 26 community events, sponsored 36 organizations, joined in 76 collabs, participated in 20 community events, partnered with 23 fair-trade companies and international philanthropies. Since then we have energetically kept the pace while increasing our impact, participating locally and nationally in the “beauty with a cause” scene, sourcing sustainable products from companies who give back and being active community partners with schools, organizations and philanthropies. We have also been published in the Georgia Business Journal, Who’s Who America and local Valdosta Scene and Valdosta Daily Times multiple times for our charitable work and awards.

Marlo Beauty: What’s your favorite part about being in the beauty industry?
Honey Pot The Wax Spot: My favorite part of being in the beauty industry is having a different take on a pretty uniform industry. As you know, I believe in beauty being more than what you can see, but in the difference you can make in someone's life. Through my business I am able to collab with a wide scope of businesses and meet so many different humans. Allowing a more transparent look into what we as humans, but especially females, truly are and how together we are better, encourages body confidence and self love. If I only make a difference in one woman's life my job has been well done. Beauty doesn’t have to be vain, exclusive or structured so strictly to fit into what society shapes us to believe is beautiful - beauty is a feeling, an attitude that contagiously radiates to make the world a better place. By creating an atmosphere where women and their bodies, hair and imperfections alike, are celebrated, I am creating a platform to change the way “beauty” is seen.
