Facebook Live - Color Correction

Brassy uneven tones. Grown-out faded color. Fashion colors that fall out of fashion. The dreaded at-home box hair color. Every day you have clients in your chair that need color correction. But do you know how to achieve their needs and keep their hair healthy? During this Facebook Live broadcast, Clairol Professional Top Artist Luis Rodriguez will show you how to change hair tone in a safe, easy way.

Light to Dark Color Correction

The model had about 4 inches of virgin hair regrowth with highlights that had turned brassy. The goal was to make a more natural hair color by taking out the line of demarcation, yet providing some dimension.

Step By Steps
1) Mix BW2 with Pure White 20 volume developer in a 1 to 1.5 ratio.

2) Section the hair in three separate sections. Weave each section. Apply to virgin part of hair making sure not to overlap the existing blonde. As you work upwards toward the grow-out, use your fingers to lightly smudge up about 1/2 inch. After all foils have ben applied, check the hair for desired lightness/lift starting with the first foil. This will ensure that you do not lift too much. Note: due to the model's fine hair, it was best to do partial baby highlights using a balayage technique.

3) After you achieve the proper lift, remove foils and shampoo with Clairol Professional Shimmer Lights to aid with any brassiness. Do not use conditioner at this point.

4) Tone with Clairol Professional Creme Demi Permanente 7N mixed with Demi Permanente Creme Developer, by applying using a bottle at the shampoo bowl. To ensure even and proper distribution, use a wide tooth comb to come through.

5) Leave on for up to 30 minutes. For this demo, it was left on for 20 minutes because of the porosity of the model's hair.

6) Use Clairol Professional Shimmer Lights Shampoo and Conditioner.

7) Apply Sebastian Potion 9 Treatment to hair and blow dry. Add curls and volume.
