Celeb Stylist, Sebastian Ambassador and Salon Owner Marylle Koken hosted an Instagram Live on @MarloBeautySupply where she showcased her best tips and techniques borrowed from on-set, editorial styling that you can apply behind the chair. Soft S-Waves
Featuring the Diane Charlize Manikin Head
This soft, laid back, Hailey Bieber-inspired look is all in the prep, says Marylle.
How-To:
Apply Sebastian No. Breaker to damp hair, then layer Sebastian Whipped Creme and Sebastian Thickefy Foam and blow dry.
To create the S-shaped waves, spray each section with Sebastian Shaper Zero Gravity then feed into a flat iron in an S shape. Marylle used the Hot Tools Professional Black Gold Ionic Salon Flat Iron 1.25”. Finger comb or use a wide tooth comb like the Cricket Carbon Comb C30 Power. Finish with Sebastian Dry Clean Only Dry Shampoo.
Color Formula:
Root shadow with Wella colorcharm 6A/462 Dark Ash Blonde then gloss with Sebastian Cellophanes Espresso Brown for 20 minutes under heat.
Natural Texture
Featuring the Diane Naomi Manikin Head
Marylle enhanced the manikin’s natural texture by setting with a few of her favorite products, then back-cutting certain pieces for added shape.
How-To:
Cocktail No. Breaker and Sebastian Gel Forte, then coil hair and set it. Once dry, back-cut each coil to expose soft texture. Finish by spraying Zero Gravity to areas where you want a bit more height.
Color Formula:
Balayage with Wella colorcharm Painting Balayage Ammonia-Free Lightener (1:2) for 30 minutes, then gloss with Cellophanes Honeycomb Blonde for 20 minutes under heat.
Farrah Fawcett Set
Featuring the Diane Nora Manikin Head
Marylle pre-cut this manikin into a longer mullet shape before creating a beautiful, ‘70s-inspired set
How-To:
Apply No. Breaker to damp hair, then apply Thickefy Foam - Marylle’s favorite product for set work. Blow dry, then set with duckbill clips. Remove the clips and brush through thoroughly using a nylon/boar bristle brush like the Spornette Ion Fusion Cushion Hair Brush. Apply Sebastian Dark Oil and finger-comb through, roots to ends. Finish with Zero Gravity.
Color Formula:
Balayage with colorcharm Painting Balayage Ammonia-Free Lightener (1:2) for 30 minutes, then gloss with Cellophanes Cinnamon Red for 20 minutes under heat.
Party Pony
Featuring the Diane Sara Manikin Head
How-To:
Apply No. Breaker all over and Sebastian Texture Maker to the roots, and blow dry in the direction of the ponytail.
Create two ponytails by looping one underneath and through the other.
This looks beautiful on its own or styled into a bun. Watch how it’s done!
Secure with bobby pins. Pro tip: Insert your bobby pins with the straight side up. Gently fan the bun with your fingertips and set with Zero Gravity.
Bonus! Give your clients a fun holiday look by mixing Sebastian Texturizer Gel with makeup glitter to create a paste and brushing onto the hairline.

Gloss with Cellophanes Cranberry Red + Cinnamon Red for 20 minutes under heat.
