Stay on top of fall hair color trends by using Wella's Color Charm Painting Balayage System to achieve soft autumn looks in stunning shades of caramel and auburn.
Formulas + Step by Step
Note: Starting base color on model is a level 4
Base:
Wella Color Charm (1:2 ratio)
3RV and 5WV - equal parts
Balayage:
Wella Color Charm Painting Lightener and Wella Color Charm Painting Dedicated Developer 30V (1:2 ratio)
Toner:
6NW
Equal parts 20V developer + distilled water (to create a 10V)
Step one: Take partings from the middle of the head and go from the top of the head to behind the ear on each side. Then starting around the front hair line, but leaving at least 1/4” of natural hair out, weave a fine babylight for face framing.
Step Two: Use the balayage technique and apply Painting Lightener with diagonal placement around face with foils.
Step Three: Use balayage technique and apply Painting Lightener with horizontal placement in crown with foils.
Step Four: Apply Painting Lightener to the center and back using V-section diagonal and horizontal placement.
Step Five: Apply base color.
Step Six: Develop for 30 minutes, rinse until water runs clear.
Step Seven: Apply toner to damp hair. Process toner for up to 20 minutes.

Passionate about hair color, Anita is a frequent Platform Artist at major trade shows and VIP events, is a 2013 Lifetime Achievement Winner, Clairol Global Ambassador, and Senior Colorist and Stylist for The Hair Lounge in Long Beach, California. She prides herself on training other artists in conceptual color designs and showing them how to use color to accentuate cuts and create style design accents.
Charmika Spencer
“Education is a stepping stone for continuing successful goals in life,” says Charmika Spencer. She derived this philosophy from the many years of experiences as a licensed Cosmetologist/ Beauty Salon Owner. Having received her Associate of Arts degree and Bachelor of Science in Business Management from the University of Phoenix, she regularly shares her knowledge to clients, business professionals and students. Spencer also received a Master of Arts in Education concentration in Adult Education and Training mastering instructional training and curriculum development. Along with her passion in beauty, business and education, she is a certified Biometric Technician. She balances her profession by working in her establishment, Jakotes Hair Salon located in Atlanta, Georgia and as a dedicated design team member of Wella Professional. She also expands her creativity in health and wellness by dancing and exercising daily at the gym.
