COLLAGEN GLOVES AND SOCKS FROM VOESH TAKE WATER OFF THE TABLE
Best practices in the nail industry are evolving toward waterless services. A dry (or waterless) manicure or pedicure is considered more sanitary, cutting the risk of cross-contamination because water can harbor germs. Dry manis and pedis also last longer. When the natural nail plate is exposed to water, the plate expands. By applying polish soon after lifting the hand or foot out of the water, you’re applying color to the expanded nail. When the nail plate contracts back to its normal level, the dried polish can crack or fail to cover the entire surface. But, clients and nail professionals alike have been sticking with what they know. Water is soothing and has seemed to make the process more comfortable - until now!
Finally, a new product is shifting opinions on waterless manicures and pedicures. Voesh’s Collagen Manicure Gloves and Pedicure Socks remove the need for not only water but also many other nail service staples, including cuticle softener, cuticle oil, massage lotion and paraffin wax. That’s all in the glove or sock, premeasured and ready to use.
“The Collagen Glove and Socks decrease product usage while eliminating product waste and spoilage,” says Jenna Ott Carroll, Voesh's Master Educator. The gloves and socks are perforated at the tips so that you can leave them on even while you’re applying polish, according to Carroll. Just tear off the tips after 3-5 minutes, and the hand or foot continues to enjoy the treatment for a full 20-30 minutes. The total service time, then, is about the same as a mani or pedi with water.
The glove and socks are the latest innovation from Voesh, familiar to Marlo Beauty Supply customers through the brand’s increasingly popular individual nail service packets. Like the packets, the contents of the gloves and socks are formulated with marine collagen, the highest-grade of collagen on the market, and are free of parabens, phthalates, synthetic sulfates and triethanolamine. All of the Voesh concepts eliminate waste, since you can order and store only as many packets, gloves and socks as you think you’ll need. Clients are warming up to the idea of products that are used only on them. It takes customization to the ultimate level!
